RIAZ AHMAD, SAQIB, GOHAR & CO. (RASG) is pleased to present the ‘highlights, comparison & comments’ on this year’s budget to its clients, friends and associates. While developing this document every endeavor has been made to keep the presentation simple, with a view to help our readers understand the amendments in the various statues through the Finance Bill, 2006.

This commentary reflects our understanding of the legislation and we recommend that reference should be made to the precise wording of the Bill wherever necessary. We would also recommend that professional advice should be sought before acting upon any of the amendments.

The year 2006 also brings along the celebration of the Golden Jubilee of Mr. Riaz Ahmad’s 50 th year in practice. During these years thousands of professionals have been trained under him including myself. Being closely associated with him I have been fortunate enough to listen to the various epics out of his great memoir. Those experiences are a vital ingredient to craft a true professional and, as once said by him “Integrity is what makes a Chartered Accountant”. The entire staff of RASG’s is proud to be associated with him and we all pray for his good health and long life.
