This section deals with the power of custom officials to take over the imported goods in certain cases. By virtue of the proposed amendment the custom official has been directed to receive written offer from the buyer to buy imported goods sought to be cleared at value declared by an importer in the bill of entry or goods declaration. He is further empowered to take certain actions against the importer or his authorised agent.
